Antoine Normand has taken over the management of BlueBear LES a software company specialized in the fight against online child exploitation in 2007. Before being the CEO and investor in BlueBear LES, Antoine Normand co founded Cactus Commerce in 1995. He was responsible of corporate governance, financial management, M&A and operations. Between 1995 and 2006, he was instrumental in positioning Cactus as a world leader in e-commerce solutions on the Microsoft platform. In 2006, Cactus employed a team of 125 professionals located in Cactus offices of Gatineau, Toronto, Montréal and Chicago. Antoine Normand sold his participation in Cactus in 2006.
Antoine received is Civil Law License from the University of Ottawa in 1996.
Antoine Normand is involved with numerous community and fundraising organization. In 2006, he was elected president of the Gatineau Health Foundation after more than 4 years as vice-president. As president of the foundation he is de facto a director at the board of the Gatineau Health Center. He was also elected President of the Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants du Québec representing Canada at this French organization that promotes entrepreneurship and human values in the corporate world in Paris, France. Fikret Hacizade received the MSc and PhD degrees in Quantum Electronics and Nonlinear Optics from Moscow State University, Moscow, USSR, in 1977 and 1982, respectively. He received the Prof. Degree in Laser Physics in Condensed Media from USSR Academy of Sciences in 1992.
He worked for TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey) in 1991. From 1991 till 1996 he was Scientific Adviser first and Head of The Physics Department after in the National Institute of Metrology (TUBITAK UME) of Turkey, where he was responsible for establish primary SI units Standards of Turkey. Since February of 1997, he has been working at The National Institute of Electronics and Cryptology (TUBITAK UEKAE) as Senior Researcher and Project Manager. His interests include optoelectronic control measurement devices, digital/optical signal and image processing, hyper spectral image analysis, high spectral and space spectroscopy systems. He is author and co-author of more than 70 published papers and few international Patents.

Dr Anya Hunt is the author and presenter of this presentation entitled Laser Micro Dissection in Forensic Investigations. Anya is currently employed as European Sales Manager & International Forensic Specialist for MMi AG, a Swiss based Micromanipulation company. She works closely with many organisations across Europe including the Turkish based group Incekara. Anya joined MMi in 2009 after working as National Forensic Manager for Olympus in the UK. She has a BSc in Chemistry and Pure Maths from the University of Sheffield, an MSc in Forensic Science from the University of Strathclyde, a PhD in Forensic & Analytical Chemistry from UMIST Manchester, a GDipL in Law from University of Staffordshire and a LPC from BBP Law School. She has worked in the field of Forensic Science since 1991 and has worked as a case reporting Forensic Chemist reporting cases in Fires, Drugs, Toxicology, Paint, Glass, Condom Lubricants and Footwear before finally moving into management and focussing more on the technological side five years ago. Anya is Chair of Standards for the Forensic Science Society (FSSoc) and Manages the European wide University Accreditation Scheme. Abraham J. Domb, is the head of the Department of identification and forensic sciences (DIFS), Israel police since 2007. David Holt is the Director of the Analytical Unit and Professor of Bioanalytics at St George’s, University of London. He has extensive experience in the measurement of drugs as a guide to therapy, and has been responsible for the development of assays used to monitor a wide variety of therapeutic agents. He is also responsible for Forensic Toxicology Services at St George’s, where he provides services to HM Coroners, pathologists and law enforcement agencies for the analysis of illicit and prescription drugs. Professor Holt is a frequent speaker on a broad range of issues relating to bioanalytics and clinical toxicology, and is the author of over 300 publications in peer reviewed journals and invited contributions to books. As the Head of Forensic Technology within KPMG Netherlands, Gerben has extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the areas of electronic discovery, data analytics, computer forensics and litigation support.
After founding the department in 1998 he has led several projects for clients in the area of electronic discovery, shadow investigating the work performed by regulatory bodies, supporting law firms with their e-disclosure activities in legal proceedings and performing data analytics on large volumes of data for a variety of investigative purposes.
He has worked on large scale data analytics projects with a diverse client base throughout the world. He also led the development and deployment of KPMG’s AML Case Management System for both correspondent and retail banking.
Gerben’s recent work includes:
- Analysis of claims and provision data for a large insurer to reconstruct gaps identified between production and financial systems.
- Technology leader for AML review projects with different banks in Amsterdam, New York, Zürich and London.
- Design and propose Continuous Monitoring framework for integration in the business process of a Dutch Bank.

Gillian Leak has worked for the Forensic Science Service (FSS) based at its
Wetherby laboratory in the North East of England, since 1978. She is a
Bachelor of Science (Hons), a Chartered Biologist, a member of the Society
of Biology and a Member of the International Association of Blood Pattern
Analysts (IABPA). She is currently a member of SWGstain which is the MFRC
sponsored Scientific Working Group on Blood Stain Pattern Analysis Methods.
Gillian is based in the FSS Homicide and Violent Crime team and regularly
attends Scenes of Crime and court. She has also been involved in the
investigations of International homicide crimes.
She is the National Scientifc Lead for BPA and her role includes setting and
maintaining standards in the discipline for BPA. This includes being the
lead BPA trainer. She has delivered BPA and scene examination training
courses over the last 15 years to Forensic Scientist, Pathologists, Scene of
Crime Officers and Senior Investigating Officers.
Gillian has attended every IABPA conference (European and International)
since 2004 and presented on many of these occasions. She has also been a
guest speaker at the Nordic region conference of the IABPA held in Iceland,
at British Forensic Medicine meetings held both in the UK and in Lausanne,
Switzerland, at British Odontology Society meetings, at UK Forensic Science
Society meetings and at the Mediterannean Academy of Forensic Science
Conference held in Antalya, Turkey in 2009. Many of these meetings also
included the delivery of a BPA workshop.

The company provides innovative forensic ICT solutions for knowledge management and business intelligence and has registered a number of Patents in this field. Richard has worked in Europe, Canada, United States, Middle East and Australia. The company won Middle Market Exporter of the Year 2007 and is a finalist in the National Business Awards 2009 (Best Use of Technology in Business).
The company has developed its own funded Industrial Doctoral Research Program (IDR Program) sponsoring innovative technologists to undertake applied PhD’s with the company. Dr. Koltuksuz was born in 1961, received his Masters Degree from the Computer
Engineering Department of Aegean University with a thesis of “Computer Security Principles” in 1989. Earned his Ph.D. from the same Institution with a dissertation thesis of “Cryptanalytical Measures of Turkey Turkish for ymmetrical Cryptosystems” in 1995. And, appointed as an Assistant Professor subsequently.
He moved to Izmir Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Engineering in 1996 and became a full-time, tenured Associate Professor within the same institution in 1999. Dr. Koltuksuz established & run the Information Systems Strategy and Security Laboratory (IS3 Lab) in Izmir Institute of Technology for a decade. He joined to the department of Computer Engineering of the College of Engineering of Yasar University in September 2009. His research interests are Cryptology, Theory of Numbers, Information Theory, Theory of Computation, Operating Systems, Multicore Architectures, Open Source Intelligence Analysis
and of Computer Forensics. Dr. Koltuksuz has held numerous workshops and education programs for Computer Forensics over the years and the number of police officers and DA’s who had participated in his programs exceeds well over couple of hundreds. Dr. KWOK Fu-chiu got his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Faculty of Science, University of Hong Kong. Since 1987, he joined the Forensic Science Division, Government Laboratory, Hong Kong, China as a chemist specialized in traffic accident reconstruction and drugs of abuse analysis. Forensic examination of damaged vehicles, vehicle parts, serial number restoration, toolmarks, shoeprints, trace evidence as well as facial-photo comparison and crime scene investigation are also his expertise. His present post is Chief Chemist heading the Drugs, Toxicology & Documents Group. While he worked in the Criminalistics & Quality Management Group, he also gained his management experience in DNA analysis. His main responsibility is to provide and manage forensic services to the Hong Kong Police Force and other local government departments, including testimony as an expert witness in courts of laws.

Dr. Arslan graduated from Bogazici University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 1991. He received his M.S. and PhD degrees from Duke University in 1993 and 1996 respectively.
He worked as a research engineer at Texas Instruments and Entropic Research companies on speech technologies. He joined the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bogaziçi University in 1998 where he is currently working as a full professor. He is also the founder of Sestek (www.sestek.com.tr) , a speech technology company whose main focus is speech recognition, speech synthesis, voice biometrics and IVR technologies. Dr. Arslan has published 75 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He is also the inventor of 10 patents. Liljana Selinsek, Ph.D, graduated at the Law Faculty of University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), where she studied all available subjects from the broader filed of criminal law. In postgraduate education, she received Master’s degree in the field of financial criminal law and after that she advocated successfully her doctoral thesis with economic criminal law theme. She passed also the Judicial State Examination. At present, she is working as the Assistant Professor for Criminal law, Criminal procedure law and Economic criminal law at the Law Faculty of University of Maribor (Slovenia). There have been more than 150 units in her bibliography; most of them are scientific and expert papers from the broader field of criminal law, but three of them are books. Her research work is focused particularly on economic criminal law and criminal law aspects of modern technologies. In the period 2006 – 2008 she was a member of national research team dealing with the project on theme “Digital forensics and its role in court procedures.”

Michael Robert Hickok currently serves as the Assistant Legal Attaché at the American Consulate General in Istanbul, Turkey. A Supervisory Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Dr. Hickok previously was a member of the Joint Terrorism Task Force assigned to the FBI Division in Buffalo, New York, where he also served as the Weapons of Mass Destruction Coordinator for Western New York State. Before joining the FBI, Dr. Hickok was an Associate Professor of Turkish and Central Asian Studies in the Department of Warfighting at the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base. He received his B.A. in Near Eastern & North African Studies as well as his Ph.D. in History from the University of Michigan. Dr. Hickok was a Fulbright-Hays Fellow in Turkey and was an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations doing his research at the Institute for Energy Economics in Tokyo, Japan. Nasir Memon is a Professor in the computer science department at the
Polytechnic Institute of New York University, New York. He is the director

Prof. Memon got his BE in Chemical Engineering and MS in Math from BITS,
Pilani, India, 1981. He got his MS in Computer Science (1989) and PhD in

Prof. Memon's research interests include Digital Forensics, Data
Compression, Computer and Network Security and Multimedia Computing and
Security. He has published more than 200 articles in journals and conference

more pending application. He has won several awards including the NSF
CAREER award and the Jacobs Excellence in Education award. He has been a PI
or Co-PI on research and education grants exceeding 10 million dollars. He
has appeared on NBC nightly news as an expert on steganography and his
research has been featured in NY Times, BBC Radio, MIT Review, Wired.Com,
New Science Magazine etc.
He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Information
Security and Forensics. He was an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on
Image Processing, the Journal of Electronic Imaging, the ACM Multimedia
Systems Journal, the LNCS Transaction on Data Hiding, IEEE Security and

Perry C. Quak is the Counsel for International Relations at the Netherlands’ Forensic Institute (NFI) in The Hague. He has recently established the NFI Academy, the (international) forensic knowledge and expertise centre of the NFI.
Previously Mr. Quak has been an advocate-general at the Court of Appeals. Before that he has been a public prosecutor at several District Courts in The Netherlands for over 15 years. He specialized in organized (financial) crime.
Mr. Quak is a longstanding active member of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).

Dr Roberto King was born in Derby, England, in 1984. After completing his BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry with Sports Science at Loughborough University, in the summer of 2005, Roberto began a Chemistry PhD research project, under the supervision of Dr Paul Kelly and Prof. Roger Mortimer, at the same institute. Primary investigations encompassed novel reaction chemistry and applications of polythiazyl: a (super)conductive inorganic polymer that has stimulated many interesting avenues of research since its discovery in the early 20th Century.
Roberto began a postdoctoral research associate position in March 2009, this time under the sole supervision of Dr Paul Kelly, investigating the forensic potential of polythiazyl in relation to ink printed documentation. His research interests include forensic fingerprint and ink detection, indentation identification, solid-state zeolite syntheses and application, host-guest chemistry and various aspects of main group sulfur-nitrogen chemistry. He has several publications relating to these research areas and is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Darrell is a member of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) working as a Computer Forensic Examiner in the Brisbane Office. His duties
include providing assistance to the AFP and external agencies with the examination of computers and other electronic storage media.
He is also responsible for the installation, maintenance and development of equipment and software used during computer forensic
examinations. Darrells specialty within the team is the extraction and presentation of data from Navigation Systems.
Darrell has been involved professionally in the forensic examination of computers and data storage devices since 1999. In that time
he has worked on the development of many of the systems used by the AFP. Prior to joining the AFP, Darrell was a System
Administrator.
Darrell is a member of the Australian Computer Society and holds a Bachelors degree and a Graduate Diploma in Information Systems from

Piotr Girdwoyn - born in 1973; in 1995 graduated from Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, where in 1999 he obtained the Ph.D. degree in Legal Sciences based upon doctoral thesis devoted to reconstructing the past (criminalistic versions). In 2002-2003, Girdwoyn benefited from scholarship in Max Planck Institut für ausländisches und internationales Strafrecht in Freiburg (Germany) where he conducted research on assumptions for his habilitation thesis elaborated under scientific patronage of Prof. Albin Eser. The paper (criminalistic defence tactics – outline) was defended in 2005, and since 2006 Girdwoyn has worked as Associate Professor at the Department of Criminalistics of Warsaw University Faculty of Law and Administration. In 2006 he stayed as Visiting Fellow at School of Law, University of Baltimore (USA), and in 2007 – thanks to the scholarship of H. and M. Straniak – at the Faculty of Law, Basel University. In 2007, Girdwoyn moved to the position of Director of Forensic Science Centre at Warsaw University, where in collaboration with, among others, Warsaw High School of Technology, National Academic Computer Network and Polish Security Printing Works he has been involved in “The Platform for Secure Implementation of Biometric Systems for Verification and Identification” project. The project is conducted within 7th competition for development projects in the field of security and country’s defense, of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Poland.

Received his Masters degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois in 2003
Received his bachelors degree in Political Science – Public Finance from Ankara University in Turkey.
Started his career at the Inspection Board of Finance in Turkey in 1993, and climbed his way up to chief inspector.
Upon starting to work for Financial Crimes Investigation Board, governed by the Turkish Ministry of Finance in February 2005, he became the deputy director of the board in 2009.
Over the years, Mr. Turkkot has attended many international meetings with the OECD, FATF, Egmont, EAG, and many more.
Mr. Turkkot has many articles published in the subjects of Finance, Tax and Accounting.
In January 2010, Mr. Turkkot started working within the private sector working as a consultant, and chartered accountant. He also serves as board member of the International Crime Investigation Experts Association (USUID) in Turkey.

Valerio Causin was born in Venice on March 14th 1975. On 2000 he graduated in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Padova and on 2005 he got a PhD in Chemical Sciences at the same University. From 2001 to 2003 he was First Lieutenant in charge of the Chemistry, Explosives and Flammables section of the Forensic Branch of Carabinieri in Rome. Since October 1st 2007 he is researcher in the Department of Chemical Sciences at the University of Padova. His research interests are focused on the application of polymer characterization techniques to forensic sciences, in collaboration with Carabinieri in Rome and Messina. He is actively engaged on the application of morphological and structural characterization of polymers by X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis and optical and electronic microscopy. In 2009 he was awarded the AIM prize for young researchers in polymer science. An author of 41 papers in international journals, he was invited or keynote speaker at a number of international conferences, universities and research centers.

Prof. Dr. Yasar İşcan, after graduating from the Ankara University, Anthropology Department, attended to the Smithsonian Institute in the United States as a scholarship, and worked on the Terry skeleton series.
Master's and doctoral studies have been accepted by Cornell University, Prof Iscan completed his Masters and doctoral studies here. Prof Iscan received his Ph. D. Degree in 1976.
Prof. Iscan continued his research on Anthropology and gave several lectures at the University of Florida. His research subjects include Modern , historic and archaeological societies .
Prof Iscan also conducted research on American, Japanese, South African society regarding the variations of the skeleton . He has trained may PhD students from Turkey, South Africa, South Korea, Romania and USA. In his work, Prof Iscan focused mainly on the identification techniques in forensic anthropology.
Prof. Iscan was referenced in many publications, and also served as expert witness in many cases taking place in the U.S.A., Israel, and South Africa. In addition he also served as expert. A few examples of his expert witness cases include the Israel vs. Ivan Demjanjuk and the United States vs. Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma Federal Building bombing).

Yuri Gubanov is CEO and owner at Belkasoft, independent software vendor from Russia. In his past Mr. Gubanov completed a full path from being junior software developer to senior developer, then project manager and later IT top-manager.
